We've moved early in order to better serve our customers

256 High Street, Belfast Maine

in the yard of the Waterfall Arts Building

Have you seen Janet Mills’ new “Stay Safer at Home” executive order?

It requires cloth face coverings in public places such as playgrounds, busy parking lots and lines for take out.  Please wear a face covering to market tomorrow.

The info tent will stay open for SNAP/EBT customers only.

In order to minimize the number of people touching clipboards, we are asking that info booth credit card customers bring cash or checks to market (some of the vendors also accept credit cards at their stand).

COVID-19 and Vendor Pre-Ordering at the Belfast Farmers' Market

Support the local farmers and food businesses of the Belfast Farmers’ Market while sheltering-in-place. Farmers markets remain open as an essential service in Maine, but as we’re advised to stay home and practice social distancing,  many of our vendors are also prepared to make delicious, local food also available for pickup or delivery via pre-order. Checkout the Belfast Farmers' Market website for up to date information regarding each vendors pre-ordering options.

This Week at the Market....

We are letting you all know that we will no longer be participants in the Belfast Farmers' Market.  A combination of factors including the pandemic situation has lead us to this decision.  It has been an amazing adventure to be a participant in the market all these years.  We have watched the market grow and change from a tiny group of vendors in an east side parking lot to the vibrant and forward looking market we see today.  All of our customers have been an important part of our lives.  Our fellow vendors, in many instances, have been like family.  We look forward to seeing all of you in the future as shoppers ourselves  at the market and around town.
We still have products available and can be reached at:  207-382-6446 or
Love, Blessings and Good Health to All.
Sandy and John Spinney

Bramble Hill Farm will officially be back this week for the start of our season in this brave new world.  We’re looking forward to seeing everyone after what feels like a very long winter or maybe a late spring or maybe that’s just the state of things.  Fresh oyster mushrooms are back as well as our dried bags and we’ll also be offering our new immune boosting mushroom tinctures this year.  We would like to encourage all our customers to use our on-line store at our website which will be open from 12-6pm on Thursdays for pick up at Fridays market.  We also hope to have some pre-bagged fresh mushrooms available for sale at market in addition to our dried products and tinctures. We will be taking credit card payments online as well as offering it as a new option at our markets in addition to checks and cash. We thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding as we all try to navigate and understand this strange new reality together.

American Cheese Month celebrates the dairy farmers, cheesemakers, retailers, cheesemongers, and chefs all working together to bring the best cheese to your table. It is no better time than NOW to support the American cheesemaker by buying #americancheese!

With any luck, we will have chive logs this week at market! You can preorder for a speedy grab and go at market at https://appleton-creamery2020.square.siteNever fear, though, you can still just drop us an email ( with your desired cheese choice, or simply show up at market. Each week, we are learning more about this brave new world of farmers’ markets. So far, we can only list cheeses that are a set price (not variable). So, while we have cow and goats milk Camdenbert, they are weighed, and each one is different. We managed to cut some Havarti and some Gouda in uniform sizes to offer a few for preorder. I will still have a few smaller and larger size slices at market. We appreciate exact change and checks, can take your credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, or invoice you electronically. Please order by 3 p.m. Thursday, so I have time to pack it before evening chores.

Mother’s Day is Sunday. Take Mom on a drive out to the Midcoast Cheese Trail. Nearly all the Trail is open for the season, you can see the animals that make the milk that goes into your cheese, purchase other farm products, and NO CROWDS!, and on Facebook.

Here’s hoping for a sunny market day! See you at market.

Thanks to all our customers that came out last Friday despite the cold and rain - here's to hoping this Friday is much nicer weather!!

Our Online Store is once again undergoing some updates - Thank you for your patience and understanding.

✨With many of our fellow vendors returning to the market this week and in accordance with the market guidelines (pre-Covid 19) we have decided that pre-orders for pick up at the Friday market will no longer include off-farm products that we are offering in our farm store. ✨

These items - vegetables, mushrooms, maple syrup, coffee and soaps will all still be available for pre-order and pick up here at the farm every day of the week except Fridays and Sunday as well as on Saturdays when our farm store is open.

Our online store will be fully re-stocked on Thursdays.

Here's what we will have at the market on Friday:

  • 100% Grass Fed Dairy - yogurts, kefir and cheese
  • Whey Fed Pork - sausages and ground pork
  • 100% Grass Fed Beef - ground
If you are looking for specific cuts of meat - pork chops, roasts, etc. - please place your order online for quick and easy pick up, or shop our farm store on Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm. We are taking the Covid-19 safety protocols very seriously and are keeping our farm store sanitized between visitors.

If you shop with the EBT system at the market and would like to place a pre-order you may still do so - just use discount code EBT at checkout and then pay at the market with your clipboard.

We hope you will consider coming out to our farm store on Saturdays to enjoy a safe and fun shopping experience. The road to the farm is in great shape and we are just 15 minutes outside of Belfast - Google Maps will get you right here.

It is incredibly encouraging to see the number of folks from our community making the extra effort to shop local and support small Maine farms, and we sincerely hope this trend continues. We want to be your farmers!

Be Well - Greg & Heide
