This Week at the Market....

DIG DEEP FARM

Help us wittle down our storage veggies and overwintered kale!  Freeda is!

See you all on Friday with fresh micro greens, kale, and sweet and colorful root crops!
APPLETON CREAMERY

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and are ready to eat again! We have a few Thanksgiving “leftovers” that we will be discounting this week.
Back at the farm, it’s a wrap for milking. We had to dry off the goats early this season, due to the unusual cold and lack of farm help. We do have a good supply of cheese stockpiled for the winter, but we won’t be making several of the seasonal favorites again until March, when the kids arrive and the milk flows again.
We are offering gift certificates for the holidays, and every week will be featuring a holiday serving suggestion at market. Stop by our table and let us help you design your cheese plate for holiday entertaining. There are only three markets until Christmas!

PLYMOUTH POND FARM BAKERY

Panettone, Stollen, Challah, Cranberry Walnut Bagels! It's that time of year!
In order to make room for all our holiday fare, we are discontinuing Cruffins and Bear Claws.
TODDY POND FARM

So much news this week!!

First a quick trip back to October....

Senator Erin Herbig (Waldo), chose our farm to be part of her Fall Business Tour. Heide was making cheese that day, so Greg had the opportunity to give Sen. Herbig a tour of the farm and to discuss the future of farm viability in Maine and specifically Waldo county.

Erin also presented Toddy Pond Farm with special recognition from the Maine Senate at the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce awards ceremony in November. Toddy Pond Farm won the Growth Award for 2019.

See Senator Herbig's Facebook post HERE

Now fast forward to yesterday!!

There's something about cows and snowstorms...at least on our farm. We knew our heifer Mary was due to calve soon so we got her into the barn before the storm, and wouldn't you know it, on Wednesday morning after the storm this little guy arrived.

Both he and his mama are warm and cozy in our heated barn, and we are happy to report that he's up and nursing very well. We are so happy for Mary and excited to have her join our milking herd this winter!!

Are you looking for eggs, or pork?

Most folks know our farm for our yogurts and cheese (and fun Friday night dinners), but we produce a lot more that just dairy. Our laying hens are going strong right now so for the foreseeable future we will have fresh eggs at the market. Our chickens are fed organic grain, whey and kitchen vegetable scraps. Our eggs sell out fast so get to the market early.

And for whey fed pork we've got all of the following:
Ground Pork
Breakfast Sausage - links and ground
Sweet Italian Sausage - links and ground
Pork Chops
Spare Ribs
Boneless Fresh Ham Roast
Butt Roasts
Country Style Spare Ribs
Boneless Pork Chops
Salami - Coming Soon!!

We also have Bone Broth (so good for you!!) and Fermented Veggies (also wicked good for you!)

If you are looking for us to bring you anything specific to the market, send us an email - toddypondfarm@gmail.com and we will hook you up!

Can't make it to the market? - come out to our farm store. Open everyday, 8 am to 6 pm, self-serve (unless we have a blizzard - see silly video of Greg). The town of Monroe does a great job plowing our road.

HALF MOON FARM

A snowy day at HALF MOON FARM.  Just made a big batch of ELDERBERRY
APPLE JELLY.  We'll have 4 oz jars, 8 oz jars and some very special 10 oz GIFT JARS.

We will be bringing our FLAX SEED CRACKER during the Holiday season
starting this Friday!  Orders are welcome.  They freeze perfectly so stock up!
BRAE MAPLE FARM

For your Christmas tree:  wizards with dragon or angels with unicorn

or Santa’s with lobsters or Santa’s with Christmas tree.
MEADOWSWEET FARM

Our sheep hail from Iceland, and they aren't about to let a little foul weather keep them from grazing! Below is a picture of the flock taken on Tuesday afternoon. Their long outer coat sheds water and ice like a thatch roof, while the soft, lofty inner fibers hold in the cozy warmth.
On the farm we are gearing up for wreath making season - we'll have them available soon at the market!

DICKEY HILL FARM

Our winter greens continue to sweeten up nicely!  Harvest this week will include: collards, kale, spinach, cilantro, parsley and lettuce mix.  We will also continue to have sweet storage carrots and red onions available.

Our grass fed beef herd is small so our inventory of available cuts ebbs and flows. However, this week our freezers are FULLY STOCKED! Send us an email to dickeyhillfarm@gmail.com if you would like to pre-order certain cuts for pick up at market this Friday. We have been loving this Garlic-Tomato Short Ribs recipe from Shannon Hayes' "The Grassfed Gourment Cookbook":
