From the Executive Director

GreenWheaton “Five Years and Still Going Strong”

This June marks GreenWheaton 5th year as a “green” non-profit.  Our mission is to promote Wheaton MD as a model sustainable community and serve as an example of what a “green” community could and should look like.  The name GreenWheaton implies just that.  As our board member Kathy Michels says “it’s a verb, we are working on `greening` Wheaton”.  Five years ago we gathered at All Eco Design Center on University Blvd to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the first conservation landscape (Rainscapes) garden and our new status as a 501 (c) (3).  That first gala was just a small group coming together to celebrate these achievements and make plans for the future.  Five years later we gather again to review past accomplishments and look toward the future and I must say the future is still bright.  More...

Help us continue our efforts and offer more educational outreach on the importance of living and working “green,”.  It is imperative that we raise funds at events like this annual fundraising gala.  Your contributions will be invaluable in these labors.  Listed below are many of the ways in which you can provide your assistance.

Exhibitors Participation:  We still have a few exhibitor tables available for vendors to exhibit their wares and products to an audience of like-minded people.  A table is only $200.  Vendors are encouraged to provide materials to be included in the free gift bags provided to the audience. Download the exhibitor application.

Sponsorship:   Download the sponsorship document which explains the value of each sponsorship level.

Donations:  We are in need of donations of food, items for our gift bags, greenery for decorations, items for raffle and door prizes as well as others services.  If you have other ideas how you can help we would love to talk!  Purchase an extra ticket and support one of the night’s volunteers.
Volunteer: Volunteers are always needed to help setup and breakdown, stuff gift bags as well as helping at registration or the bar.  Give us some time and we'll discount your ticket.  Let us know at
