Dori will share critical environmental issues expected in MD's 2016 legislative session, goals for substantial climate progress in MD thru increased renewable energy,  addressing pesticide use, large-scale farming issues, waste and recycling, as well as defending recent Chesapeake Bay protections.  You can learn to influence your legislators in Annapolis and have MD lead environmental protection.
 
Consider attending MD Sierra Club's annual Jamboree - October 16-18.
It's a great chance to get involved in their campaigns to protect our air, water, and natural places, and to meet fellow Sierrans.

Join a Public Meeting on September 16 about the future of trails in Montgomery Parks. 

Mont. Parks has been revising the Countywide Park Trails Plan and will share ideas about enhancments, the proposed addition of a “Loops and Links” system, plans to improve community service by connecting countywide park trails to regional and recreational parks, as well as to as commercial/employment centers and metro stations.

Congratulations!   Chesapeake Conservation Corps Class of 2016 Announced.   This is a well regarded job training program administered by the Chesapeake Bay Trust, providing young adults with employment opportunities in environmental service.  These youths could be your next amazing hire!  

Congrats to Univ. of MD - The US EPA has selected UMD as one of 9 winners of a six-year grant to support a regional Environmental Finance Center (EFC). Through the EFC, local communities will be able to access technical expertise to identify solutions for financing environmental activities.
