In the early days of the German thrash metal movement, bands like SODOM, DESTRUCTION, or IRON ANGEL integrated black metal elements in their compositions. About ten years later, SODOM played punk songs, DESTRUCTION was irrelevant, and IRON ANGEL no longer existed. And then there came DESASTER who picked up the torch for blistering blackened thrash metal and to this day are still running! MERCILESS RECORDS recently granted us a deluxe double gatefold reissue version of the first full length album by DESASTER from 1995, "A Touch Of Medieval Darkness". DESASTER did not just appear as a reincarnation of a formerly worshipped legendary idols, no DESASTER delivers a balanced mixture of thrash riffs, black metal charisma, and medieval elements that makes the early metal gods proud! Creating a sincere and original style of blackened thrash which gave a nod to its predecessors yet constituted a sustainable concept for the future of DESASTER! A bit pale and raw in comparison to some of the later works, yet not any less potent! DESASTER are kings of the German blackened thrash of modern times!

From their beginnings, DESASTER always created in a skillful manner a duality of thrash and black metal. A clear preference was mostly difficult to detect. In this respect, "Hellfire´s Dominion" presents an exception. The thrash hammer dominates here, although the band did not forget to add some of their typical medieval melodies. Regardless of the leaning towards a more thrash sounding album there still shines the black metal elements and the razor-sharp attack style of riffing DESASTER are known for. "Hellfire's Dominion" is a shining diamond within the band´s discography and is the band’s second full-length album which shows a major change in almost every aspect of the music from the debut. You will notice better production and the songwriting has matured significantly which as a result, the songs sound more intricately chiseled and account for a huge replay value of the whole record. "Hellfire's Dominion" marks the first step in moving more towards blackened thrash and away from the traditional black metal delivered on the debut "A Touch of Medieval Darkness". Evolving into the sound that seems to have remained the staple from this point onward.  A classic reissue album in special packaging for the diehard collector! One of Germany's best kept secrets!

DISINTER is a brutal death metal band from the Chicago area since 1990. Originally released on PULVERISER RECORDS in 97, and re-isssue by Andrew aka Akhenaten of JUDAS ISCARIOT and label owner of BREATH OF NIGHT RECORDS in 2000. We are familiar that the MORTEM album, "Demon Tales", was an impressive debut, and this, the second album, "The Devil Speaks in Tongues" (1998) is a no less masterful continuation. The 12 songs that decompose this record seem spawned in Hell! Fast, and ominous, they ooze a dark and cursed energy. It is an enigma because MORTEM have so many good riffs, each one better than the last, and each song is well crafted and seething with inspiration of the forefathers of the hellish style of death metal... POSSESSED, SACRIFICE, old SLAYER, and of course early MORBID ANGEL. Truly a fantastic band for those seeking a reflection of the past done in a sincere and dedicated way. Truely one of the best from South America.

SCEPTER was born from the remnants of THE DEAD YOUTH, Chicago based 90s sleaze, dystopic, death metal band. John Karnes bass player of the infamous THE DEAD YOUTH went on to create SCEPTER in 1993, and over the years delivered a demo, EP, and two albums. "I'm Going To Hell" being the debut full length for SCEPTER in 1998. SCEPTER strays away from the eclectic nature that was THE DEAD YOUTH, to create a sound influenced by early death metal legends HELLHAMMER, CELTIC FROST, or VENOM. Pounding, ugly, grimy, sleazy, fucking metal from the gutters of Chicago.

Second album from the old school German black metal band UNGOD. Formed in Winter 1991 with the intention of bringing back the old metal spirit, UNGOD went on to release several demos and EPs before unleashing their first full length album in 1993. "Circle of the Seven Infernal Packs" which received a lot of appreciation. It would take 15 years to see another gem of an album that is "Cloaked in Eternal Darkness." UNGOD is an underground black metal band that has been grossly underappreciated. This is a monster of a release takes UNGOD to new grim level. "Cloaked in Eternal Darkness" has all the ingredients that make extreme metal fans salivate. Razor sharp guitars and haunting vocals are hallmarks of this album. These German misanthropes delivered an album as evil, old school, and primitive as possible; and they did not fail on any level. Long time black metal fans get ready to be surprised by that one occult gem you wished you had heard years ago!
