Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. Phil 4:13 (The Message).

Has your family been running on empty? Let me extend permisson to take a unique approach to your Holiday giving strategy this year. What if you extended the simple gift of "stillness" to one another? I know, I are probably wondering how could someone practically give anyone this kind of a gift? And why...of all things...stillness?

"For you alone my soul in silence waits." Psalm 62:1

God is magnificently generous, ruthlesslessly tender and unfailingly kind. This is the God that meets us in stillness when we seek Him there. He longs to RELEASE us from the burden of being our own God. In stillness we can actually be freed from self reliance and be open to RECEIVE the most amazing gift of all...the gift of time spent with God and God alone. Stillness is really just the wrapping paper. God is the giver. The gift is true freedom. All throughout the scriptures we are invited to enter into this stillness so that we may truly see God for who He really is...and in turn be free to see ourselves for who we really are. Boy - what a gift it is to be fully known!

When we experience true release and assume a posture to recieve from God...we are then able to RETURN to the hustle and bustle of our lives with generous hearts and hands. Who would have imagined that God would be so kind as to give us such a priceless (and expensive) gift offering...Stillness. May you wrap your Christmas with plenty of it - for you and for others.

"Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
