The Power of A Song

by Hayne Steen, MAMFT

Through the years, there have been a number of songs that have served as soul sherpas for me. They have journeyed with me through the heights and depths, through many unique seasons of transition and heartache.

In the last year, I have leaned on the power of song more than any year I can ever remember...one song at a time. One song after another provided the most wonderful soundtrack for me in 2015.

I'd like to share them with you.

May they be received as a gift in your new year. Maybe, just maybe, one of them might serve your heart and soul like they have my own.

"Sing to God a brand-new song,
    sing his praises all over the world!
Let the sea and its fish give a round of applause,
    with all the far-flung islands joining in.
Let the desert and its camps raise a tune,
    calling the Kedar nomads to join in.
Let the villagers in Sela round up a choir
    and perform from the tops of the mountains.
Make God’s glory resound;
    echo his praises from coast to coast."

Isaiah 42:10-16 (MSG)
