By now you have all heard, read, and been bombarded with all kinds of facts and figures about the Chinese virus.  Thoughts At Large will not add to the deluge.

Security vs Freedom

A very famous American, Benjamin Franklin, in fact some call his life “An American Life” or he is referred to as “The first American” said:

“Those who would give up essential liberty  to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety”

Another very smart man in the ways of the world, but did not have the flare for the English language that Benjamin Franklin had put it this way:

“You want security, cows have security and look what they do to cows”

 

The message is the same!
