GAZETTE

26 October 2015
We had our two-day Reaccreditation visit last July from The Quality Agency. I am very pleased to report that we have achieved full compliance, 44/44 Expected Outcomes. Well done to the team at Glengarry for continuously providing ongoing quality of care to our residents. We were all very proud to show off the work and improvements since our last accreditation during the site audit.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the residents and families, and to those who have participated during the audit and provided feedback to the assessors.

I also want to say thank you to the support team at corporate and executive level, for all that you do in the background supporting our facility.

We are now focusing on more improvements and identifying areas where we are able to promote more quality of life and wellbeing for our residents. As I emphasize on our newsletters and meetings please do not hesitate to give us your feedback as these are our tools for making sure we provide the best care for our residents and that they are given a happier and more enjoyable experience during their stay at Glengarry.

Kind regards,
Arlie.
Welcome and Goodbyes...
We were sad to say goodbye to our CEO Mr John Stuart who has spent the last 11 years leading Twilight Aged Care to where we are today. His passion and innovative ideas have taken us well and truly into the 21st century style of residential aged care provision ahead of other organisations. Thank you John for everything you have done for Twilight.

With the same warmth, we welcome our new CEO, Ms Lesley Jordan. Glengarry staff and I have had a pleasure of meeting Lesley during her short visit here at Glengarry, with Margaret Merlin, Manager Operations in her first few days with Twilight Aged Care. The Executive Team Committee has had a chance to attend our first meeting with Lesley as our Chair, and I am looking forward to working with Lesley leading us into our 2nd Century. With Lesley’s wealth of experience, I am confident that we will be continuing to move forward in setting a benchmark in the aged care industry. Besides from our CEO leaving, we farewelled a few staff members both from the Glengarry and in Corporate Office in the last few months. We will be missing all of them and we wish them luck in their new adventures.

Clive Heritage and Leanne Jones sadly said their goodbyes. We were able to bid Clive farewell with residents and families during an afternoon tea. For those of you who wish to say hello to Leanne, please do not hesitate to contact me or send me your messages, I will be happy to forward them onto Leanne. Thank you both for your wonderful caring attitude and being part of the Glengarry family. I am pleased to inform you that Ben Chard, our bus driver and Sabita, one of our permanent nursing staff, will be filling in these shifts permanently to ensure our activity programs continue on.

Rey Baluyot, TAC Education Coordinator was farewelled here at Glengarry by the staff and residents. Thank you Rey for your wonderful contribution to the organisation! Your service to Twilight which lasted over 11years has given us lasting memories. Congratulations in achieving what you have so far, starting as a personal care assistant, becoming a supervisor, then upon completion of your qualification, as Education Coordinator. We are excited to see you develop further and your new qualification as a Registered Nurse is just around the corner. We can’t wait to see where you will be in another 11 years!
Whoohoo!

Victor Camejo-Ferrero, our Workplace Health and Safety Officer and Barbara Berman, TAC Volunteer Coordinator, will also be missed by everyone at Twilight. Victor has been with Twilight for more than a decade and has decided to go back to his birth country recently. We wish you all the best, Vic! Barbara’s contribution to ensuring our community connection and coordinating all the volunteers in each home, will surely be a shoes to fill. Glengarry staff and residents thank you for your hard work and everything you have done for us!

Our corporate office has been busy finding replacement staff and confirmation of appointments will be announced shortly.
