From the Desk of the CEO
The Board and Executive recently spent time working on the Twilight Aged Care Strategic Plan and I am very excited to share with you our vision for the future.
As many of you will know Twilight Aged Care commenced as a community aged care provider over 100 years ago and was set up as a “a congenial home for refined, educated women who, in the twilight of their lives, found themselves with limited means and in need of a refuge from the cold comfort of the ordinary boarding house”.
Over the years the business has developed and grown, and today we operate 4 facilities – providing residential aged care in the north of Sydney. I am very pleased to advise that the plan is that Twilight will continue to provide aged care in the years to come. However the market is changing and with the introduction of Aged Care reforms and the move to consumer directed care we need to respond to this market changes.
The Board and Executive are committed to our vision “To be a preferred provider of quality care services in our community” and will seek your support in this aspiration. We plan to achieve this through our mission “to provide quality integrated care services and accommodation in the community”. We will operate our business in accordance with our core values of Respect, Compassion, Integrity and Commitment…so what does that mean?
It means that over the next 3 years we will focus on repositioning ourselves as a preferred quality aged care provider in the north of Sydney. This will be achieved through four major strategies:
- Introduce a care model based on wellness and enablement - this will require delivering a care program that empowers residents to be the best they can be – physically, psychologically and spiritually.
- Improved Financial Performance – this will require us to look at how we currently operate and will require some changes to how we do things.
- Grow our business to provide a larger offering of residential aged care and retirement living options. This may include working in partnerships and alliances with other like-minded community providers.
- Developing our people to ensure we have the skills and capacity to deliver the care needed and grow our aged care business.
Over the coming weeks I will attend each of the homes to talk to staff regarding the implications of these changes and what it might mean for each of you. I am also happy to take any calls on 0437 077 301 or email me at Lesley.email@example.com
With warm regards,
Chief Executive Officer.
