JMC ACADEMY NOMINATED FOR 'HIGHER EDUCATION PROVIDER OF THE YEAR'
We are proud to announce that this year, JMC Academy was nominated as ‘Higher Education provider of the Year’ at the 2012 Australian Council of Private Education and Training (ACPET) Awards for Excellence. Of thirty submissions, JMC Academy was awarded runner up, with the SEEK-owned Think Education Group scooping this year's award. Winners were judged by a panel of eminent independent judges from industry groups, industry skills councils, government departments and other stakeholders.
The awards showcased the commitment to quality outcomes, and demonstrated the diversity of vocational training and higher education offered by private education institutes in Australia.
JMC Academy congratulates all 2012 Award winners.

FOLLOW #TIM
Brisbane Music students were invited to 'pitch' for the opportunity to win a delegate pass to BIGSOUND, including full media access to all live shows and events. Following nominations by Heads of Department and an interview, music student Tim Orchard was chosen to attend and cover the event. Tim believes this opportunity is timely as he explores options for the next stage of his career. "I've been looking at pursuing further studies such as a Diploma of Education, for teaching purposes, or a Masters Degree in Creative Industries". Tim's band 'Brother Fox' also won this year's Bluesfest Busking competition. Having recently recorded their EP, Tim is looking to connect with BIGSOUND contacts to help him build momentum with its pending release.
We urge you to follow Tim's journey as he posts his way through BIGSOUND over the next two days. |

RAW THE MOVIE
Talented and determined JMC Academy alumni, Mark Brightwell, is a testament to his proclamation that “if you don’t try, you can’t succeed”. A graduate of JMC Academy's Film and Television Production course, Mark moved on to further studies in Communications at UNE, while continuing to collaborate with best friend and fellow creative, Cohan Banfield. Together they have produced 'RAW THE MOVIE', a film based on Mark's passion for surfing. The success of the film has lead Brightwell and Bandfield to secure a worldwide distribution deal with 'RAW' to be screened at the New York Surf Film Festival.
Before you start saving your pennies for a trip to the 'Big Apple', 'RAW' is NOW screening in selected Events and Hoyts Cinemas nationwide. Be sure to attend a session and show your support for Australian film makers and JMC Academy alumni. Mark's full inspiring creative journey will be released in our next 'Alumni In Focus' email piece next week. For further details about the film visit the official website, Facebook or Twitter pages. Let us know what you think of the film on JMC Academy's Facebook.
