Jacinta Le releases her first EP
It all started back in 2009 for JMC Academy Melbourne graduate, Jacinta Le, who received a ‘Canberra Area Theatre’ award for her lead role of Kim in Miss Saigon. This was followed by her decision to move to Melbourne to study a Bachelor in Contemporary Music and Performance in 2012 at JMC Academy.

Since graduating, Jacinta has certainly not stopped singing or writing songs, recently featuring on the front cover of the Canberra Weekly just a few weeks prior to launching her first EP, From Little Things!

Melbourne Mockatil entries are now open!
Calling all Melbourne filmmakers!! As part of JMC Academy’s yearly events, the 2014 Martini Film Awards celebrate the achievements of our film and television production students across a number of coveted categories. We would like to once again invite high school students and budding young filmmakers in Melbourne to be a part of the junior arm of this event, the Mocktails by submitting their best 3-5 minute film for review.

The Mocktail submissions will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and will be screened at the JMC Academy Martini Film Awards in October 2014. There are prizes for both the winning student and their school, so what are you waiting for? Submit your film now!
Exclusive workshops with celebrity vocal coach
Celebrity vocal coach, Richard Fink IV, will be visiting from New York to teach his world-renowned vocal development techniques. JMC Academy graduate takes on The X Factor
Jaymie Deboucherville recently studied Audio Engineering & Sound Production at JMC Academy in Melbourne. After graduating he decided to follow his passion for music performance, with an audition on The X Factor!

From the moment Jaymie walked out on the stage, he captivated the entire audience, receiving a standing ovation from all four judges, as well as the 5,000 strong audience, with his performance of the Oasis Hit ‘Wonderwall”. Judge Natalie Basingthwaite could barely contain her excitement when it was her turn to critique his performance. "Jaymie last year we had such amazing singers. I have to say I was nervous about this year. How are we going to top that?... We've now got you!”

He continued to impress the judges making it through the first round of boot camp and reaching the Top 24. Congratulations Jaymie! Watch his performance here.
Brisbane Martini Awards a roaring success!
The Martini Film Awards in Brisbane were celebrated in style, with a Masquerade Ball theme. Students and guests dressed in suits, gowns and masks and walked down the red carpet to celebrate the months of hard work the JMC Academy Film & Television Production students have put in to their films. A crowd of 300 gathered to watch the most outstanding work of JMC Academy’s best films in multiple categories.  This year, our incredible panel of judges, included Elle Croxford, Defrim Isai, Ben Hackworth, Patrick Hughes, Shayne Armstrong, Tony O’Loughlan, Dave Champion, Matthew Crocker, Kerry Farrell, Rowena Mohr, Mary-Ann Vale and Simone De Haas

JMC Academy would like to thank our amazing sponsors; American Cinematography Magazine, Editors Guild of Australia, Director’s Guild of Australia, Arts Screenhub, Australian Writer's Guild, Palace Cinemas, Ben Parkinson Casting, Ego Management and eCaster online, who were kind enough to donate prizes to the winners of each category.  Huge congratulations to all the students whose work was showcased throughout the evening, particularly those who won the awards for their category. For a full list of the student winners click here.  Also checkout the photos from the evening here.
