JMC Academy hosts exclusive workshops with Berklee College of Music Professors
In honour of JMC Academy’s entry into the Berklee College of Music’s International Network, we enjoyed the past week collaborating and celebrating with visiting Berklee Professors and friends of JMC Academy. High School students and their teachers enjoyed FREE workshops which culminated in a final performance! The Berklee faculty commented on the superb talent and commitment displayed by both our students and our younger high school friends. Head of International Programs Jason Camelio noted “it’s pleasing to see that students aren’t afraid to consider a variety of musical influences and cultural references in their music”. Read more about the partnership here.

Student In Focus: Chris Tamwoy
His sounds have been re-blogged around the world, John Butler finds him inspiring, and after an impressive performance at the Triple J Studios, JMC Academy Brisbane campus student Chris Tamwoy opened for the John Butler Trio at the Byron Bay Bluesfest this weekend!

Currently in his first Trimester of a Contemporary Music Performance degree at JMC Academy, this self-taught eighteen year old began playing the guitar 'normally' in grade 5.
