Presidents update

Happy New Year to the Bentleigh FNC community! Although training has finished up for the Christmas preseason we have still been very busy behind-the-scenes. With all our committee members preparing in readiness for the upcoming 2021 season with fingers crossed will be an exciting year for the club especially with all our new Under 19 players and families coming to the club.

In 2021 the Bentleigh Football Netball Club committee will be running the first ever Demon draw! With more details below on this newsletter and also on our website under the events page we hope everyone will enjoy participating. This is a great initiative by our fund raising subcommittee to raise funds for the club whilst giving our members and friends the opportunity to participate in the chance to win $200 on a weekly basis over a 10 week period.’ Participants that purchase a ticket will go into the draw every week to have this opportunity limited tickets available.

Dates for football and netball training are to be released soon, and official Bentleigh functions dates will be released onto our Facebook page and website with more details in the next edition of our newsletter.

Although we have had a few COVID-19 cases popping up in the south eastern area we hope everyone is staying safe and taking care of eachother. We hope you’re all enjoying nice weather and preparing for the highly anticipated 2021 season.

Yours truly,

Brett Cooper, Vice President of the Bentleigh Football Netball Club

Christmas pre season wrap up

The Under 19s squad trained for 4 weeks in the lead up to the new year. Without ground allocations our first couple of sessions were running sessions then we enjoyed getting back into football with the allocation of Duncan Mackinnon.

As a coaching group we were highly impressed with not only the incredible numbers at training but the overall fitness level of the group. We were also excited to announce the appointment of Spencer Daly as coach of our 2nd Under 19s team. We enjoyed a BBQ and end of year break up at Roo Baa to finish off what was a great 4 weeks to see off a disappointing year.

The boys are holding each other accountable to keeping fit throughout January via nominating each other to train and upload proof on our Facebook page.

- Liam Dimattina, Head coach of the Men’s Under Nineteens Football Teams
