If you've been to Just Goods enough times over the past eight years, you probably ran into Dave Rupert.  Dave passed away February 5, 2012.  He was an important part of our community, and will be missed.  You can read more about Dave on our Facebook page.

welcome spring, babies and fabulous females!

There are so many things happening this month and so much to celebrate. March 20 signifies the vernal equinox which is the start of spring in the northern hemisphere and has long been celebrated as a time of rebirth. Many cultures and religions celebrate or observe holidays and festivals around the time of the March equinox, such as the Easter holiday. Start the celebration and join the us for DTSB's First Friday on March 2nd and meet Jen from Ecological Babies. Coming up in May is the 2nd annual Rain Barrel Auction- Just Goods is happy to host one of the barrels again this year, stop by and check it out!  Spring also means throwing open the windows because spring cleaning mode is in full swing. Check out our earth- and family-friendly cleaning products.

local partner of the month

The Center for Women's Intercultural Leadership is a hidden gem in our community.  Take a look at their website and explore some of the fantastic programs and community initiatives such as the Women's Entreprenuership Initiative.  CIWL is doing what we know needs to be done - encouraging women to lead, to create businesses and more.  Way to go!

global partner of the month

The Global Mamas network of producers has grown from six founding members in 2004 to nearly 500 producers in nine communities in Ghana.  Check out their recycled glass jewelry, "trashy" bags, and batiked baby dresses at Just Goods!  Learn about their job creation program here.
Words from a "Global Mamas" herself:

Sarah York Sarah York
Weaver, Ajumako
Sarah has been able to diversify the revenue resources and increase her savings by working with Global Mamas. “I want to build a house for my family in Ajumako in five to ten years,” she is very excited to work every day to achieve this goal."
