The Des Moines Symphony Academy’s newly created pre piano class curriculum, Group Lesson for Young Beginners will enrich your children’s knowledge and skills for a lifelong appreciation of music.

Auditions are open to any musician in grades 1-12 wishing to audition on an orchestral instrument!

Tylar Meister wins prize for Des Moines Symphony inspired project

Student wins blue ribbon for Des Moines Symphony project

Congratulations to Tylar Meister who won a blue ribbon at the 2012 Polk County Fair for a coffee table book on the Red Cape Tango, which the Des Moines Symphony performed this spring!
Honors String Quartet Performance

Honors String Quartet performance

As part of our 2013-2014 Grant Application to the National Endowment to the Arts, our Des Moines Symphony Youth Orchestras Honors String Quartet participates in a recording session on Mon Aug 20, 2012 at 4 p.m. in the Grand Hall at The Temple for Performing Arts.
 
Current String Quartet members are Nina Liu, violin, Jessica Jensen, violin, Madison Helton, viola and Kyle Shelton, cello. This performance is open to the public and free to attend. We invite you to come and experience the wonderful musicianship of our Honors String Quartet.
