"Be Reconciled..."
A Quiet Day led by the Revd Jenny Bridgman
Thursday 17th October  9.30am - 4.00pm
Friends: £10pp - includes lunch and refreshments

We are pleased to invite you to join us for a Friends Quiet Day led by Revd Jenny Bridgman.

In the following three short sessions we will explore the vocation of the People of God to be reconcilers and peacemakers in the communities in which we are placed:

  • As society around us becomes increasingly entrenched, what of our scriptures, tradition and experience might help to bring healing and restoration to communities torn apart in recent years?

  • What role is the Church being called to play in holding together increasingly diverse groups of people, and what greater hope might provide a focus for the restoration of these relationships?

  • How might reconciliation work for each of us on the smallest of scales, as we each seek to be “reconciled to God” and to one another?

Each session will be followed by a longer period of silence for prayer and reflection.

Jenny is the Associate Vicar of Timperley, Assistant DDO in the Diocese of Chester, and  a Spiritual Accompanier.

The Anniversary Garden

To mark our 50th Anniversary year, fifty fruit trees are to be planted as part of a project to transform an area of the grounds currently known as 'The Old Ponds' into 'The Anniversary Garden'.

The trees, supplied locally by Morreys Nursery in Kelsall, will benefit the environment and increase biodiversity by attracting bees, birds and other wildlife. The garden will provide a beautiful space to explore and enjoy ... and hopefully an abundant harvest for years to come.

We are offering the opportunity to donate a fruit tree to honour the past, celebrate the anniversary and look to the future ahead. We suggest a minimum donation of £15 to cover the cost of a tree, with any surplus donations being used to develop the anniversary garden.

We are holding some volunteer days (see below) to prepare the ground and hope to plant the trees in early January (weather permitting).

Please contact Foxhill for an order form if you would like to donate a tree.

Grounds Volunteer Days

In order to begin the transformation of The Old Ponds area into The Anniversary Garden, we will be holding a number of volunteer days.

You don't need to be an expert to help...  Our gardener James can always find a job to be done, and to keep the energy levels up Foxhill will provide lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Saturday 9th November - from 9.30am .. finishing the day with a bonfire (and maybe a rocket or two!).

Saturday 7th December - from 9.30am ... finishing the day with carols around the campfire (and maybe a mulled wine or two!).

If you would like more information or to take part please do get in touch.

Friends Christmas Lunch and Carol Service

The Friends of Foxhill Carol Service will be held on Sunday 15th December at 3.00pm.
A Christmas Lunch will be served at 1.30pm, along with refreshments available after the service.
More details will be available soon.
