Sailfest this weekend! See the schedule, from Friday - Sunday. Fireworks over the Thames River! See them from New London or Groton. Don't want to drive into New London? Take the Water Taxi!

Amelia Earhart is in the news again (I took above photo of her flying suit at National Postal Museum). Amelia got married near my home and now it appears her husband's next wife was correct to fear Amelia walking through the door--Amelia may have survived the crash! Watch History Channel's Amelia Earhart: The Lost Evidence” on Sunday, July 9, 9 pm (EST).

I will present images from Amelia's work and marriage, and explain how her husband upset Amelia's mother after her disappearance, at my talk on 18 famous widow/ers on Monday, July 10,  at Bill Memorial Library (next to Fort Griswold, Groton). Refreshments and book signing at 6 p.m with the presentation at 6:30 p.m. This is part of the Connecticut Author's Trail,
