Adventures Along the Seafarer's Trail!

Note from Lisa:

No worries--despite the recent gunfire between the militia and pirates on Mystic River, all pirate dogs escaped unharmed!

I still haven't found a shipwreck, but this website is a lot of fun:Shipwreck Expo Directory: Capt. Dan Berg's Guide to World Wide Shipwreck information. It includes sonar images of shipwrecks and their history by region.

Yesterday, sailors arriving in Mystic told me they were held up delivering their boat by Wednesday's nor'easter. Sailor Katie Bradford said that when she checked  the weather at Ledge Light, it blew 55 knots. Well, it certainly blew a lot of my leaves off my trees!

If you're hunting for your rake too, then you should watch my recent TV show. A physical therapist demonstrates proper raking (and shoveling) techniques to avoid injuries. If  you want to see the inside of the TV studio where The Lisa Saunders Show is filmed, the community access station is having a tag sale TODAY, Sat, 10/25, from 9-2, to help raise funds!

Anchors aweigh!

Shipwreck explorer Captain Bill Palmer keeps me updated on his latest shipwreck adventures. Stay tuned! This recent photo of him was taken by Richie Kohler of the book, Shadow Divers. (When I asked Craig Harger, co-discoverer of Perry's Revenge off Watch Hill, R.I., about the dangers of diving, he said unlike the "shadow divers," he's a "shallow diver!" I include the story of Perry's Revenge and other wrecks off Watch Hill in my book, Mystic Seafarer's Trail.)
