Now on to what occurred during November 2019!

Thank you to everyone that came down to the light switching on ceremony in the town centre, we hope you got to see Peppa Pig and Anita Dobson and it was not too cold for you!

In November we held our 2nd AGM in the Boardroom at Northampton Town Football Club.

It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our achievements from the last year and to review the results of our Annual Members' Survey. It was very pleasing to see that the peer to peer support and wellbeing activities that we offer are well received by our members, with an overwhelming 95% saying they are likely to recommend Breast Friends Northamptonshire.

We also took the opportunity to recognise the contribution of our amazing volunteers and committee, who have given so much time, commitment and energy to support the group.

We reviewed the work done by our Trustees to improve the infrastructure and governance of the charity. We reviewed our finances for the year and saw that 80% of all expenditure directly supports our members via wellness walks and events, meetings and coffee mornings, and kit bags for those going through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

A huge thank you to everyone who presented and attended the event.

We held an Awareness event at the Swansgate Centre, if you have any suggestion for upcoming Awareness events please do let Leonie know.

We held a Wellness Wak to Waddeson Manor where we witnessed the beautiful lights on display.

Northampton Town FC
Thanks to our partnership with the football club we were allowed to hold a bucket collection outside the ground and raised £600 in doing so.  As a bonus, the Cobblers also won their match against Grimsby!

Awards
We feel especially proud of Leonie in having been named the recipient of the Inspirational Woman Award 2019 sponsored by Avon. The award was, of course, won by our dear departed friend Suzanne in 2018 and Leonie has pledged to continue her legacy with the Living With, Living Well programme.

We were also shortlisted in the Community/Sports Activity category in the Northamptonshire Sports Awards. We did not win but are extremely proud to have been recognised for our achievements.

Advent Calendar
We are very excited to again be running our member's advent calendar with items that have been donated by the wonderful businesses and individuals around the county.

Starting from the 1st December a random Breast Friends member will receive a gift, make sure you check on the Facebook and Twitter pages to see if it was you!

Waitrose - Kingsthorpe Branch
It is very close at Waitrose, if you are popping into the shop or have a friend or relative that uses the store please do let them know that they can vote for us to win the Community Award.

Funding Initiatives

Lottery
We are close to hitting our target selling 50 tickets per month in the Northampton Lottery. If that target is reached we will receive £1300 per year, and hopefully one of you will win £25,000.
