The cost of using pay-as-you-go mobile phones has trebled since the first iPhone was launched eight years ago, Money Mail research shows.
In the past, millions of older people and younger teenagers who rarely needed to use a mobile chose pay-as-you-go deals so they were not tied into costly contracts — and were protected from unexpected bills.
However it has become a technological swiss army knife as it is now seen as an essential part of our lives- from communication, navigation, reference, online banking, storage of contacts, entertainment for bored children and memes for our own little amusement. Which basically means if one were to lose their phone, they would basically lose their legs.
