Sunday, September 29
Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time,
Services: 8:15 Chapel, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sanctuary
Preaching: Rev. Dr. Blair Monie
Sermon: The Eye of the Needle
Scripture: Luke 16:19-31, 1 Timothy 6:6-10
Both texts for this morning’s service have to do with wealth. Timothy says, in effect, “You can’t take it with you.” Luke tells a story in which the rich man has missed something essential in the building of a whole, complete life. How can we be faithful with material wealth?
