TWO AWARDS!
We have been honored with two awards last month: Basiq Blaq and Sand|Form Array.
Basiq Blaq took 2nd place in the People’s Choice category for the 2020 George Matsumoto Prize and we were awarded an Honorable Mention for the Mega Dunes Lodges of Abu Dhabi an International Architecture Competition organized by Bee Breeders and the Environmental Agency of Abu Dhabi. What an honor! We are humbled for both recognitions.
Basiq Blaq Residence takes Matsumoto's Prize 2nd place in the People's Choice Category.
The project’s goal is to introduce more affordable contemporary homes for Triangle Area housing. This modern ranch-style residence takes its shape from the archetypal gable form and helps to integrate itself into the neighborhood. Although the house presents a modern intervention, the project’s scale and proportional parameters integrate into its context.

Sand|Form Array takes Honorable Mention for the Mega Dune Lodges Competition.
The goal of this competition was to create 25 ecolodges with a common hub to promote ecotourism in the Arabian desert. The main focus of our entry was that the lodges where provide views of the natural desert scenery. A circular scheme allows visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the dunes and the Arabian Oryx. At night, the panoramic curved window system in combination with the circular skylight located at the center of the lodges will provide the ultimate stargazing experience.
The structures consist of a series of vertical brise-solei feature elements that follow the shape of the lodge’s radial scheme. Using renewable sustainable cross-laminated timber (CLT) technology, the structure members are meant to be built on site and to be removed and relocated. To ease the assembly even further, the roof system is proposed as a tensile membrane structure, making it light and easy to transport and install.

Karen Woods Residence
This House will be located on a beautiful site. A C-shape scheme is currently being explored in order to create a courtyard house. Vastu philosophy plays an important aspect of the project. We will be unveiling more as we progress with the development of this house.
