Hello Modern People,
The year has gone by and Habanero Architecture is happy to be celebrating our one-year anniversary. We have been lucky to be able to close the year with positive numbers and positive attitudes towards next year. With amazing clients, fun designs, and two awards this year, we are sure that 2021 will be even better. Thank you so very much to our clients, builders, and consultants for being there for us. We could not do what we enjoy the most without you. Our success so far is because of you, on behalf of Habanero Architecture and my family, thank you!
Next year we will continue to focus on new and innovative ventures with our clients and colleagues. Our designs are your best value. We believe that architecture has the power of improving people's lives and we feel honored to be able to be part of the continued growth of the Triangle Area and North Carolina. We are a modern architecture firm and our vision is to be part of the "new traditional architecture."
As a side note, next year we will be changing our Newsletter format to a bi-monthly issue. We will also continue providing useful information through our video series on our YouTube Channel. Have you ever wondered how an architect designs his or her projects? While our last video for the year is just an introduction to the overall methodology, you can observe me taking over a design for a modern house. The video was divided into two parts. During both videos, we show you an example of the process we typically use to generate ideas and explore options. In video one I do a lot of idea sketching and uncover organizational concepts. In video two I take one of the ideas explored in video one and test this idea in a floor plan layout and in a three-dimensional model. At the end of the video, you can look at the Schematic design Presentation as the final product of this exercise. On the Boards: Webster Residence
We have officially issued our Schematic Design set and we are happy to see this project moving forward. This building will be a single-family residence. It features an angular composition with a "Z" scheme. We borrowed the shape of the property to maximize the land usage by creating two courtyards linked by the public area. The result of this exploration allowed us to provide two wings for this house that are directly connected inside and to the outdoors, however, they both remain autonomous. Our homage to North Carolina's Midcentury legacy is the shallow hip-roofline design.
