A tribute to Larry Gluckman

In the early hours of March 30, 2021, longtime rower and coach Larry Gluckman, 74, passed away from an aggressive form of leukemia. Larry's life in rowing began as a freshman rower in the fall of 1964 at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and continued until the end of his life, coaching, amongst others, John Graves from Craftsbury Green Racing Project in February at the US Olympic Trials in Sarasota, Florida. Winner in the men's single sculling event, John will represent the USA in May at the final Olympic qualification regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland.

From Marlene: "Coaching with Larry was a special part of my life. He was incredibly supportive of my coaching career on all levels. He was very creative and his saying 'we are only limited by our imagination' is one that helps us raise our level of excellence as people and coaches.  I am grateful to have spent many seasons together at Craftsbury and Florida Rowing Center and will miss him."
