Wholly Holy Rising Up/Uprising

To affirm is to declare that something is 100 percent true, and to stand in that truth — even in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

All I need is within me.

For your safety, the Center for Spiritual Living in the Heart of Las Cruces is temporarily suspending operations within the building.
NA groups available on line  and have started to meet at the Center again following social distancing guidlines.
While we recognize the health and well-being of everyone, we are being cautious in regard to our physical proximity to each other during this time.
The Sunday celebration, with regular Sunday
messages from Reverend Bonnie and other speakers, will be ready for your viewing each Sunday morning on our YouTube channel (See link below) until further notice.

We are grateful for your continued support of  the Center with your prayers and tithes.
Reverend Bonnie L. Smith
Reverend Bonnie felt the call to ministry when she was in High School back in the 70’s. She attended Grinnell College where she double majored in religion and psychology graduating with a BA (1980).  Reverend Bonnie then became a certified American Sign Language interpreter, and has been serving the deaf community for over 30 years.
Rev Bonnie found her home in Religious Science in 2000 when she walked into the Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living. She moved to Las Cruces in 2006 as she started her last year at the Holmes Institute with the goal of becoming a Community Spiritual Leader in some capacity through the Centers for Spiritual Living.  She received her MA in Consciousness Studies from the Holmes Institute in 2007. Presently she is an ordained Religious Science minister and Practitioner, and in the spring of 2013 began serving CSL in the Heart of Las Cruces, first as Interim, and then as the Permanent Community Spiritual Leader in November 2014.
Rev. Bonnie believes that uplifting our consciousness uplifts and changes our lives. You can meet with her for personal spiritual counseling, pastoral care, or to gain a deeper understanding of these teachings by making an appointment. Rev. Bonnie and the Center are also available to serve you in celebrating life events such as weddings, & memorials, etc. In addition, she is also fluent in American Sign Language. Rev. Bonnie can be reached by calling or texting 575-635-8081, emailing, or leaving her a message at the Center.

Bring in items by appointment only until May 3
You may bring cleaned and Ready For Sale items to the Center and put them in the children's area for collecting. Our Goal is to hold our sale May 8, so start preparing now. We use precautions based on Covid guidelines as we collect items. Call the office to make your appointment to bring items in.

We are looking for volunteers to set up tables and to price items May 7th, as well as folks to work on sale day,  scheduled for May 8.

Trustees in Touch
Can you believe it has been over a year since we have all been together? The
Board has begun work on a plan to open back up. Please be patient as there is a great deal of planning involved. If you have ideas or thoughts about reopening please feel free to share them with a Board member. What are you most excited about as we move forward to reopen? Do you have any ideas about what we can do different? How will you provide sacred service? Let us know!

Make sure to check out the new website The new website is up now but still a work in progress! Bob Grier, Faith Brown, and Cathy Lady worked with the website designer Bryan Sullivan on the website for several months and we are excited to launch its new look.

Mark your calendars for May 16, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. for the Annual Meeting.
The meeting will be held via Zoom again this year.

Don’t forget the Treasure Sale!
If you still have items to donate, please call Cathy Lady at the Center to make an appointment to bring your items in during open hours.  The Treasure Sale is scheduled for May 8 last day to bring items is May 3rd.

The new AED and First Aid kit are now installed in the hallway outside the
sanctuary. Thank you, Bob Grier, for installing them.

Remember, the Board is open to ideas and suggestions. So, feel free to call on any Board member if you have questions or ideas you want to share. We want to hear your thoughts. We also welcome you to join us on Zoom for our monthly Board meetings. We are grateful to serve you.
Love and Light,
Your Trustees

Our May tithe recipient:

The La Pinon Sexual Assault Recovery Service and Children’s Advocacy Center is dedicated to providing forensically sound interviews for children and adolescents when there is suspected abuse and/or neglect, or they are witnesses to a crime. The intent of this service is to produce an interview using researched based methods that is forensically defensible and provide necessary advocacy services.

The goal is to minimize the traumatic effect on the child of multiple interviews and connect child victims and their non-offending family members to community services, counseling and/or medical services, court follow-up services (VINE/ NMSAVIN), and early intervention services when identified.

The CAC is an active part of the Dona Ana County Multi-Disciplinary Taskforce that is composed of representatives from the District Attorney’s Office, local and state Law Enforcement agencies, Child Protective Services, Child Forensic Interviewers, Medical personnel, Mental Health professionals, and Victim Advocate services.

The CAC staffs four forensic interviewers who have been trained in various national models of basic and advanced forensic interviewing, and four case managers who provide follow up services.

The CAC is accredited with the National Children’s Alliance and is a full member of the New Mexico Children’s Alliance.

Note: It just so happens that we chose La Pinon as our tithe recipient before our dear Faith Brown passed, as this is where she did her internship. Donations in Faith's honor can be made directly to La Pinon, or as 10% of any donation you make to the Center this month. Blessings and thank you!
