Living Everyday
Wonder-- Living in Awe

To affirm is to declare that something is 100 percent true, and to stand in that truth — even in the face of all evidence to the contrary.  Affirmations are positive statements of intention that direct your focus to what you want to experience.

Today I keep all of my thoughts positive.

Message to our Beloved Community regarding Covid update:
The Good News…. All are healthy or getting healthy! As people have already begun to spread the word, yes, one person in our community has tested positive for Covid, and that person has taken full responsibility for staying home as soon as they felt “out of sorts” and got tested and has informed their circle of friends and people they have worked with. All are being tested; for those who have received results, all have come back negative. This person has been at home the whole time (NO need for hospitalization, as she was fully vaccinated, and she improves daily). So…. As a board and as your Community Spiritual Leader, please be assured this has been taken to prayer within our regular Tuesday afternoon prayer team, and steps for being as safe as humanly possible at the Center have also been taken (we treat and move our feet!):
**We have become more vigilant in requiring masking when inside the Center
**We have again asked groups using the center to wipe down surfaces when they are done, and are providing Clorox wipes for doing so
** I have rearranged the chairs in the sanctuary once again with social distancing in mind, and not sitting directly in front of the singers.
**And we are ever grateful to Randy Brown who continues to video tape the services so that you can watch them on YouTube if you feel more comfortable staying home during these times.
One group who also has a recently covid-positive member decided to stop meeting at the Center immediately upon learning this, they let me know, and will not begin meeting again until they are sure their whole group is safe and healthy. They also cancelled their January concert saying they will focus on spring or summer once they feel it is safe to gather again.
Our board has decided to hold its January meeting via zoom this coming Sunday at 1:00. At this meeting we will once again discuss whether to continue “in-person” on Sundays or to go back to video only. If you have something you would like to share with the board please email the office, myself, or our board president, Bob Grier. You are welcome to join our meeting.
Please follow the Spirit within you in regard to staying home or coming into the Center, we fully support you as you take this into prayer and do as you are Divinely guided to do. We love you and are so very grateful for each and every one of you!!!
Much Love, Rev. Bonnie

Our January tithe recipient:
Oak Street Veterans' Apartments
The Oak Street Veterans‘ Apartments is a supportive community and resource bridge housing 22 formerly homeless veterans under the management of The Mesilla Valley Community of Hope. They have many needs as they navigate independent living as the complex strives to help supply them with basic items such as a food pantry, clothing, blankets, sheets, towels, personal hygiene, and cleaning supplies.
We really want to start livestreaming our Sunday celebrations. If you are tech-savvy, would you please help us get set up for this?  Getting good audio into the laptop is paramount.

Trustees in Touch
November 2021

The Board of Trustees met on Sunday, November 14th. A reminder, any member may attend. The next meeting will begin at 12:30 on Sunday, January 9th.  The Board is exploring the creation of a late spring auction. We want to put people on notice that you may be contacted to help with planning and
implementation. It will take the community to create a successful event which includes raising money for the goals of the community and having FUN. We also want to expand the attendance to include people beyond our membership.

In January, the board will have a retreat/visioning meeting. If you have ideas you would like the board to consider, please contact a board member or share your thoughts with the office and the board will receive the information.

As we return to some semblance of normal, we are planning on various book studies, workshops and classes. As these become scheduled, you will be notified. If you have a book you would like to have a group read and discuss, notify the office so staff and the board can follow up.

FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK: January 7th is the next date! It is an opportunity to visit various art venues in Las Cruces and support an activity at the Center for Spiritual Living. Dec. 3rd we featured a new author in our midst, Tanya Dawson and her newly published book Andersen Light: a meta-normal novel, with a book signing. We need people to work on the First Friday committee, so if you think that is an area where you can contribute and have fun, please call the office. Those of us working on this activity would welcome support, help and ideas!

The board continues to address the issue of the windows replacement, structural issues with the building and the necessity to repair the stucco. We continue to search for a company that can provide a bid. As information becomes available, it will be shared with the membership.

Love and Light,
Your Trustees
Regarding the CSL building, our next focus will be to give the facade a facelift.  We will install new windows and re-stucco the exterior.  Luckily, the roof repair has been successfully completed.  It doesn't leak in the rain!
We are now sponsoring park clean up at Apodaca Park located at 801 E Madrid in Las Cruces.  Previously, we had a stretch of Valley Drive near Avenida de Mesilla, but due to safety concerns, the city no longer has clean up crews working road ways. They now have us clean up parks and path ways. CSL chose to take on Apodaca Park and we look forward to working with folks to provide Sacred Service by helping keep this park clean. Contact the office at 575-523-4847 (HUGS) to participate or email Amy Rohr, our member who has agreed to spearhead this project, at the office email address,
