Volume 32:  April 2018

Hello Friends of the Miksang Institute

For those of you who may have had nor’easters lately, we hope you’ve had a chance to go outside and immerse yourselves in Winter-ness. The changing landscape of winter weather can be truly wondrous.

We have three updates for you this month:

  • Announcing New Summer Workshop
  • Meet Hiltrud Enders, Miksang Teacher in Germany and Europe
  • Video Preview

If you've already participated in Opening the Good Eye or Making Contact workshops and want to go even deeper, this is the workshop for you. During five days in Lafayette, Colorado, you'll cover Form, Space and Moments: Further Dimensions of Perception and be introduced to an aspect of perception that will fundamentally change how you see the world.

Hiltrud is an architect and a Feng Shui consultant. From the beginning of working with Miksang, we could tell that she had a special way of working that reaches into a deep place of relaxation. She shared with us that, for her, perception happens through relaxation and it can also happen in reverse—relaxation can be strengthened by perception.

She is offering two workshops in German and English in Dusseldorf, Germany this Summer and Fall, linked below:

Hiltrud writes a Miksang blog in German and English. Below is a transcript of a small portion of a recent entry, On Being Alone, Listening to the World.

Along with this precious process comes the feeling of being alone. Once you give up your habitual patterns and strategies of sorting and shelving the world, true intimacy will come. Then you must find the courage to embrace the situation, to get rid of your usual orientation and navigation. To be aware of being alone, or even of its further form of expression, loneliness, is a good sign. Both are trailblazers for tangibility and resonance, for sensibility and presence …”  Read More

We have been hard at work editing videos that showcase some of our senior practitioners and students as well as the founders of Miksang. The first clip is ready to share and we want you to see it first. In just under three minutes, Michael Wood, Miksang Founder and Institute consultant, clarifies the essence of Miksang practice.
