Survey Results & News Update for Sunday, Dec. 5

Advent greetings everyone,

I received more than 10 responses to my last email about meeting face to face or on Zoom. Some people indicated that they prefer worshipping over Zoom under the New Health Orders. A small majority indicated that they are willing to worship in person with masks on the entire time, even while singing. If you are comfortable coming to church tomorrow then everyone over 5 years old must be fully masked while in the building. If you choose to stay home, the Zoom link and phone number link are below.

If you'd like to join church via Zoom tomorrow the link to the service is:

In the next weeks, worship teams will spend time brainstorming how we can make worship over Zoom, and in-person (the hybrid model) work best for everyone. After 2 years of Zoom church, Christ's global worshipping body has learned a lot of lessons about this hybrid model. We'll do our best to implement the best practices we've learned this winter season.

Yarrow Lights
There was an announcement a few weeks ago and around town about Yarrow Lights, a Christmas tree lighting event around town tonight. It's a drive-through event this year and has been scaled back significantly because of the flooding and emergency relief efforts. But, if you want to see what decoration has been put together look at this map, and drive around Yarrow with many others tonight between 6-8 pm tonight. At YUM Heidi has organized carolers and we'll be handing out candy canes. Enjoy the drive if the roads are safe and come join us for some singing if you'd like!

MCC/MDS Flood Response
If you are still looking for a place to donate to flood relief and rehabilitation efforts I encourage you to support MCC/MDS by giving online at this link: MCC BC Flood Response

This morning I met with Wayne Bremner the Director of MCC-BC and the team leaders of Samaritan's Purse to coordinate the transition of mucking-out efforts from local Yarrow leaders and volunteers to MCC/MDS and Samaritan's Purse.

These people reached out via Facebook and the phone to ask how they could help clean our houses. This morning they were sent out to 6 different addresses to tear out drywall, clean up and muck out homes. Please keep them in your prayers.

This disaster has been a great blessing in Yarrow that's drawn people together from all 4 churches to work beside one another. Continue to pray for the unity of Christ's body here in our town and in the Fraser Valley.

Please continue to pray for these clean-up efforts in our neighbourhoods and town.

See you in Worship, or Via Zoom tomorrow!
~ Pastor Darnell
