New Year, New Website
Hello my chilly friends! I know that's not a breakfasty picture up there, but it's lovely, and I'm going snowshoeing this weekend, so it's on my mind.
The big news around here is that 2013 has brought a new website - and then the website got hacked and crashed, and now it's back. For a while there, apparently I was selling viagra and didn't even know it! Long story, server problem, now we're all good.
It's the new PaulGerald.com, and I think it's pretty cool. I blog about hiking, breakfast, travel, and spiritual stuff, and there are lots of pretty pictures. It's also the home of my new web store. Groovy all around. The breakfast blog is still its own thing.
Otherwise, I've been spending my time launching Peaceful Places in Portland, and even being interviewed on TV about it again - this time KGW.

As I get cranking on the third edition of Breakfast in Bridgetown, I am back on the Portland breakfast scene, "checking the pulse" of the city but more like feeling my stomach moan from self-abuse.
The Crew and I have been out for some meals, which is always fun. We really enjoyed the new Verde Cocina in the Pearl, were impressed at how Jam on Hawthorne has grown, and we felt all grown up at Nel Centro downtown. And while we enjoyed the Hawthorne Street Cafe, we were a little underwhelmed by it.
The Portland breakfast world lost a couple of folks recently, as well: the Morning Star Cafe downtown closed, and the Berlin Inn gave up their brunch, although I can't say I'll miss it.
And finally, the Portland Tribune asked me for my 2013 portland breakfast predictions, and my response was phantasmagorical waffles. |
Powell's in SE Tonight!
Super short notice, I know, but I was wrestling with demons on my website.
This Thursday, January 10, as in tonight, I will be talking about Peaceful Places in Portland, and perhaps a few other things, at the Powell's Books on Hawthorne. Starts at 7:30 p.m.
