Say Hello to the New Book
Today is one of my favorite days in the life of a book.
It's a hell of a life, really. It starts with an inspiration, then there is all this fun research and writing, and then there's some not-so-fun times like when you convince yourself you need to go to Gillingham on a rainy Tuesday night because, hey, somebody else might decide to do the same thing ... some day.
Then there's all the time sitting at home, writing, hoping somebody might actually read this stuff one day. And then there's the money. But let's not talk about the money.
And then one day you get an email from your designer saying Here's the final file to send to the printer. The actual printer (!) who will send an actual book (!) for me to review, and then many more for me to mail out to people who might, you know, actually read it.
Today is that day: Going to the Printer Day. That means we are creeping up on two more excellent days: New Books in Hand Day and Readers Get Their Copies in the Mail Day.
Meanwhile, here are some introductions to the 2019-20 edition of The Groundhopper's Guide to Soccer in England:
And then there's the all-important page -- the one where you can reserve your own signed copy of the book -- as well as the all-important coupon code, 2020, which will get you 20% off your entire order, and which I have decided to extend until August 15.
And don't forget, there is also a Kindle version this year!
Watch for that, plus the print version, online soon. Or just reserve one from me today!
