Hopefully everyone is healthy and enjoying the winter months!
February is here! I wanted to take the opportunity to talk about wellness and the importance of taking the time to care of yourself. Whatever that may be; be it taking that mid day walk to break away from that home office, taking a skate on the canal (whenever it opens!) or a ski , drinking more water, making time to visit you local health care provide, talking to someone about challenges you may be facing, trying to get more/better sleep. Whatever it may be, we all have opportunities to take care of our wellness. Otherwise, we may be forced to make time for illness, as the absence of wellness can lead to poorer health outcomes.
Different things you can engage in such as fitness, healthy eating and engaging in meaningful conversation can be a great way to enhance your wellness and prevent illness by staying healthy.
Here are a few simple ideas:
Make a schedule (especially during the work/school week) - we are more likely to follow through with things especially if we have a plan and write it down.
Think of scheduling things that get you moving/promote self care or wellness throughout your day especially if you have the flexibility to break away from your office setup temporarily. Walking breaks, stretching breaks, meditation etc.
Use technology to promote healthy habits - Fitbit movement reminder every 45min , Water reminder app on phone, set an activity alarm (after 45min get up and walk) etc.
Plan a short home fitness, or stretching routine - start with a 10-15 min routine - pick a few simple movements, stretches, rolling, stretching, etc.) It doesn't have to be super long and complicated, try to sprinkle it into your day. Daily Outdoor Physical activity - Getting outside is very good for you, not just physically, but mentally also. Seek out fresh air, vitamin D, especially since we spend less time outdoors in the winter.
Water Intake - In the colder weather, it’s more difficult to notice when your body is sweating. Perspiration combined with extra clothing and drier air can cause our bodies to become dehydrated without us even noticing. Staying hydrated through the winter can boost your immune system and give your body the support it needs to fight off infection. Drinking water and staying hydrated can also help you stay warmer in the winter months. Your body uses water to help maintain a temperature balance and when you aren’t adequately hydrated, your body can become cold. |

At any rate, I wanted to thank everyone for their continued trust in me, allowing me to help enhance your health. Feel free to reach out anytime!

This message is to advise of an increase in practitioners’ hourly rate, effective January 1, 2023. The rate of $90/hour(+hst) has not changed in over 3 years of operation and given the current inflation and cost of operations, the hourly rate will increase to $100/hour(+hst), effective January 1st, 2023.
We value your business and the opportunity to continue to provide you with RMT and Kinesiology services. Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Keaton
