I had the pleasure and opportunity to train at the global HQ of Stretch to Win in Chandler Arizona in early December and wanted to briefly recap my experience in achieving my Level 3 FST ("Frederick" Fascial Stretch Therapy) Specialist Certification. I trained under the co-founders and creators of FST Chris and Ann Frederick.
If you haven't yet experienced FST in a session before, here is a quick overview of what FST is: FST is a table based stretching technique and system that improves range of motion, flexibility, mobility, and performance. It focuses on the fascial system, joint capsules and improving range of motion while utilizing pain free techniques that are administered by a trained FST therapist manipulating your body.
The science and ongoing research of our connective tissue system (commonly called the fascial system) has produced new models of anatomy and physiology that are shifting old paradigms not only in stretching but in many fields like physical medicine and manual therapy. Proving that a muscle cannot lengthen, strengthen, or functionally do anything in isolation is only one of many discoveries that have led to great advances in the effectiveness of fascial stretching and other therapies.
The Frederick (Fascial Stretch Therapy) technique leans into the shifting paradigms and treats the whole person, not just a body part. It is pain-free and uses constant circulatory, gently oscillating movements of traction and stabilization to decompress joints and expand space in the soft tissues. Beyond gaining range of motion where needed, one experiences vastly improved kinesthesia (ability to move with ease) and proprioception (sense of one’s posture both when still and in movement).
The Level 3 workshop over 5 days introduced and incorporated new concepts such as more complex assessments (SIPS, SITTT), press and stretch techniques, advanced FST and new moves and concepts - having the practitioner still and the client moving, client and practitioner moving in opposite directions, combining movements, and local to global work.
All in all it was a very unique learning experience learning from many experienced instructors, and innovators/leaders in the field.

This message is to advise of an increase in practitioners’ hourly rate, effective January 1, 2023. The rate of $90/hour(+hst) has not changed in over 3 years of operation and given the current inflation and cost of operations, the hourly rate will increase to $100/hour(+hst), effective January 1st, 2023.
We value your business and the opportunity to continue to provide you with RMT and Kinesiology services. Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Keaton
