NATURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION THROUGH CHILDRENS' EYES:
20 SEEDQUESTS TO TELL A STORY

How to address nature and its protection in your classroom? How can you help students to know and understand the environment they live in? How to make them more environmentally aware? How to help them reflect on the impact their lifestyle and daily behaviour can have on the environment?

At GREEN S.E.E.D.S. we did it! Our 20 classes, in small decentralised schools in Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Croatia, worked for a whole school year: they have collected resources, studied, created websites, built models and sent messages in bottles; they have cleaned beaches and collected waste in the wood. They explored their local realities and showed them to their distant peers.

All the school subjects have been involved in the activities, exploiting interdisciplinarity and complementarity: language, maths, science, art, music...

Are you curious of what they did and how? Then go to the website and have a look at the Seedquests!

DEAR STUDENTS, THE FLOOR IS YOURS!

What do the students in Chios think about their participation in GREEN S.E.E.D.S.? What did they like most? What did they learn on environment and its protection?
Someone appreciated the game on not using plastic for one week, others the seashore cleaning, other the research activities, other the insights on their local reality.
Let’s listen to them!

GREEN S.E.E.D.S. FLIES TO PORTUGAL AND BRAZIL!

As part of an Erasmus teaching mobility, last October the Green Seeds project was presented at the PhD program in Educational Sciences at the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Portuguese and Brazilian doctoral students had the opportunity to learn and dialogue about the design and development of the project, as well as the resources developed. Many thanks to Ph.Teresa Pessoa and Ph. Carlos Reis for facilitating the dissemination of the project.

...AS IT FLIES TO ROMANIA!

The GREEN S.E.E.D.S. project will soon be presented to schools in Romania, thanks to Dorina Nemtanu, teacher and expert in European projects at the 'Constantin Parfene' school in Vaslui - awarded by the Romanian Ministry of Education as 'Best European School in Romania' - and official of the Vaslui County Inspectorate of Education.

In October, Dorina participated in a job shadowing project (Erasmus KA1, schools) organised by Glocal Factory and held at IC Bosco Chiesanuova. Among the activities, the presentation of the intellectual outputs of GREEN S.E.E.D.S took place: the pupils from the primary schools of San Rocco and Corbiolo participating in the project presented their Seedquests and the related activities carried out during the school year 2020-2021.

Back in Romania, Dorina Nemtanu will spread the project to the schools in Vaslui county... and beyond.
We look forward to them joining us in our Network of Schools!

GREEN S.E.E.D.S. AT  "LIVING MOUNTAINS" WITH IC BOSCO CHIESANUOVA

"Creating knowledge and education in isolated areas is a cultural challenge that requires collective efforts and a vision of the future".

Last August, teachers from IC Bosco Chiesanuova participated in the “Living Mountains” event, where they presented our project GREEN S.E.E.D.S. The poster you see below was specially dened for the event.
