Letter from a Former Inmate

Hello, my name is Desiree.  I don't know that you remember me but I cannot forget you.  I started doing your Ten Life Choices Correspondence Course in the County jail.  In the first lesson, I opened up and let go of a lot of pain. When you wrote back you did not judge me.  You let me know that everyone has a past and it is okay.  You made me realize I could overcome my past, rise above it and choose life.   Eventually I was sentenced to a drug program and sent to the penitentiary.  I was not allowed to take your book with me but I did not forget it's contents or your encouraging words.
I was released from prison on February 23, 2015.  My book was returned to me and I sit here now reviewing the lessons and realize that I still have a decision to make, I still need to choose life… everyday.  I am choosing to live … to live in the present… to live day by day, not in my past and because of Jesus, I can.  The words that God gave you to share with people everywhere have given me much encouragement.
I know you are a busy man and I want you to know that I appreciate you taking the time to read my lessons and write words of truth to me.  God bless.

Thank-You
LifeNow has been discipling Andy, an inmate in a New York state prison, since 2010.  Andy has grown so much in his faith and is choosing life everyday.  This week, Bob received this cup in the mail which Andy ordered and had shipped.  Inmates earn 10-25 cents per hour for their jobs in the prisons.  This sacrifice shows how thankful inmates are for the Choose Life Correspondence Course and Discipleship ministry.
Prison Seminar
In March, Bob joined a team from Daughters of Destiny (pictured above) to teach a weekend seminar on the Father's Embrace at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women in Goochland, VA.  Over 45 women participated in 3 different teaching/small group sessions on abuse, our true identity and the Father's embrace.  LifeNow continues to help these women process their pain through the Correspondence ministry.  A big THANK-YOU to
Donna Dunmire for leading this team.
Sponsor an Inmate
It costs around $15 to sponsor an inmate in the US Prison System.  This pays for the book, the 11 lessons and all of the postage.  Currently the inmate fund is operating in RED INK.  Would you consider making a tax deductible gift to keep this discipleship ministry moving forward and expanding?  Click below to give a one time gift or even set up a recurring gift.
