Launching Our New Tuscan Villa Retreat This Spring!
It’s no accident that there is a whole memoir genre dedicated to the traveler who goes off to “find themselves” in a villa in Italy. We get it.
We’ve headquartered our autumn retreat in the Umbrian hill town of Orvieto for years now, but Tuscan villas are where PageCraft started. Our first retreat was in 2008, at Villa Michelangelo outside Cortona. We felt it was high time to revisit our roots, and we’re doing it in style.
We’ve partnered with Agriturismo Montalbino in the rolling hills of Chianti, not far from Florence. The property features its own restaurant offering local and in-house specialties, a sparkling pool, an olive grove with paths to a nearby lake, and several historic farm buildings renovated with the discerning traveler in mind. This place is nothing short of gorgeous!
Spring is a lovely time to be in the hills of Tuscany, and we should enjoy prime poppy blossom and cherry season. Montalbino promises a comfortable, quiet escape that is more luxe than our autumn retreat. If you want to unplug and focus on your script, this is the program for you.
We’ve scheduled the retreat to coincide with the end of the Cannes Film Festival so if you’re heading over to the Riviera, come workshop next year’s Palme d’Or script with us as soon as you’re off the red carpet.
Most meals are included in the price. Outings to nearby vineyards, hills towns like San Gimignano, and Florence itself are all possible on our days off.
