In our one-hour online workshop, Goal Setting for Creatives, you will:
Workshop Leader: Samantha Garland
- Learn how to set goals that aren’t just dreams.
- Define for yourself what success will mean in 2022.
- Learn the biggest reason you’re NOT writing, and how to fix it.
- Tap into the innate fuel that will drive all your writing this year, and beyond.
- Map out your year in one hour, so you know exactly what you’re writing toward – and why.
When: Thursday February 3 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET
Spring Writing Workshops Online
Applications are open for our next Concept to Pages and Writing Is Rewriting online workshops, which start on March 12th and 19th, respectively. Both are taught live, with one-to-one sessions included for additional coaching and feedback.
In Concept to Pages, we give you tools and a supportive framework to take a story idea for film or television from concept to first draft and beyond. We'll start by working on your characters, then your narrative structure, to give your pages a solid grounding to help them shine. BIPOC Scholarships are available, but you must apply by February 26th.
In Writing is Rewriting, we examine your film or television script from all angles using our diagnostic tools. Our exercises, talks, and table reading sessions will give you a fresh perspective on your pages, to help you develop layers and nuance in your story and characters. Let's get you feeling confident about submitting your screenplay to production companies, investors, and screenwriting contests!
Italy Writing Retreats
After taking a pandemic-related break, we are overjoyed to return to Italy for our screenwriting retreats in 2022. We'll be in the Central Italian hill town of Orvieto from May 30 to June 11, and in a villa in Chianti September 4-17. Join us for the perfect creative getaway to take your next idea from a concept to the page, or rewrite an existing draft. We will provide structure, accountability, new tools, and the support of a creative community of mentors and students. Find out more and join us HERE.
