Greetings from all of us at Cornerstone -

The year is already off to an exciting start as we welcome a new addition to our team. On January 18th, Kristine gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Elizabeth Grace. Both mother and baby are doing great and we couldn’t be more excited for the Iten family.
The birth of new child reminds us why we are in this business. Our mission is to help families build, manage, and preserve their wealth for the next generation. Earlier this year, we ran across an article that perfectly captured why more people need to consider estate planning as a part of their holistic financial plan. Everyone should meet with a trusted advisor and determine if estate planning is a wise decision for their family. In that vein, we’ve curated a few articles for your consideration that explore the necessity of a carefully constructed estate.

We hope that these articles are helpful as you encounter the financial challenges of everyday life.  As always, if you have ideas for upcoming topics or feedback on the newsletter we would love to hear from you.  Thank you for the privilege of continuing to assist you on your journey to meet your financial goals.

Why Estate Planning Matters

Estate planning — determining what will happen to your assets and property when you die and planning for the tax implications of passing on your wealth — is important for everyone. Consider these four reasons why estate planning matters for you, even if you don’t think you have much to pass on.

Isn't Estate Planning Just for the Rich?

Estate planning can be as simple as implementing a will (the cornerstone of any estate plan) and purchasing life insurance, or as complicated as executing trusts and exploring other sophisticated tax and estate planning techniques. Therefore, estate planning is important whether you are wealthy or whether you have only a small estate.
