A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPALS
Dear Ravenswood Families and Friends,
We are so proud of our incredible performers and artists who participated in our Spring Musical: Captain Bree and Her Lady Pirates. What an awesome show! Thank you to Mr. Guidry, Ms. Kitty, Ms. Reed and all of our students who made all three shows such spectacular events. We are grateful for the power of the arts and how it continues to strengthen our community every day.
On another note, we have received a critical update regarding our Chicago Early Learning PreK Programming at Ravenswood. We were recently informed that our half-day Chicago Early Learning PreK classroom will be replaced with one full day Chicago Early Learning PreK classroom for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. This means that Ravenswood will offer two full day programs for PreK: our tuition-based PreK program (no changes) and a new single full day Chicago Early Learning (formerly known as Ready to Learn) program from 8:45-3:45. All registration procedures and pricing models will remain the same. All currently enrolled students who are not aging out to kindergarten will be automatically enrolled for next year's full day program. We are very excited about this opportunity for our community, as research shows how powerful it is for children to have access to full day PreK programming. At the same time, we recognize that this change will limit the number of seats we are able to offer for the Chicago Early Learning PreK program at Ravenswood and are aware of the challenges that this change can cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us directly and we can further explore your options for PreK and next steps for registration.
Thank you all,
Mr. Manaen (Principal) and
Mrs. Welsh (Assistant Principal)
