A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPALS
Greetings Ravenswood Families and Friends,
We hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer vacation with lots of fun outside in this beautiful Chicago weather. We have been busy as ever getting ready to welcome you all back in a few weeks kicking off school year 2018-2019 with a bang. Be sure to read through the descriptions of various community building events taking place leading up to the start of the school year outlined in this newsletter.
A few highlights include our 2nd annual Kindergarten Roundup for incoming kindergarteners and their families on August 14th. A new event this late summer, open to students is a Popsicle Party with us! We invite all students to join us for a sweet treat where they will also learn their new classroom number and reconnect with the community before school starts on September 4th. This event takes place on August 27th.
We know that this time of year can feel stressful for families and we want to make the transition back to school as smooth as possible. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Thank you all and enjoy these last few weeks of summer vacation.
Mr. Manaen (Principal) and
Mrs. Welsh (Assistant Principal)

Kindergarten Round Up
Our K-1 team will spend time with your children in a natural classroom setting, getting to know them a bit.
Parents will attend a Kindergarten Parent Orientation with Mrs. Welsh, our Assistant Principal, while children are in the classroom.
If your child has a difficult time separating, please know we are here to help with that and it is developmentally appropriate. It may be difficult, but parents will not be able to stay in the classroom during the session. All parents will be escorted to a near-by classroom for an orientation session. The sessions will last one hour. We ask that each family only attend one session (am or pm) and stay for the entire duration of the program.
Please come with questions and get ready to have some fun. We are so excited to meet you and your children!
