This festival is a celebration of unity, which was first demonstrated with the successful recording and release of 'Humanity is the Genre’ (HitG), a student-driven, professionally supported charity initiative album released on Electric Train Records.

Columbia's student-run Catalyst Magazine has received a 2021 Award of Excellence from the University & College Designers Association. Catalyst was created in a course (College Magazine Workshop) co-taught by Guy Villa, Jr. (Design) and Betsy Edgerton (Journalism).

Meet the Winners of the Inaugural No Malice Film Contest


Anna Lee Ackermann '20, a documentarian and freelance Chicago-based content creator in visual, audio, and written forms, placed 1st for “As We Are Planted”. Anna pursued a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Documentary with a dual focus in film and journalism and a minor in Social Media and Digital Strategy.


New Student Convocation 2021

New Student Convocation is how we welcome Columbia College Chicago students to our unique and creative community. We are back in person this year, with our student organizations and services expo, our college president, live music and more.

Attendance is required for all new students, faculty, and staff.
