Thursday, November 1st, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Join Sauk County stakeholders at the Ho-Chunk Gaming Hotel & Conference Center.
Social Networking begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and informational presentations at 7:00 p.m. The evening wraps up by 8:30 p.m..
Presentations include SCDC project updates, results and strategies from the Sauk County Housing Study, and an introduction to One Sauk Naturally, a new collaboration in Sauk County.
Jared Pinkus, Sauk County Community Liaison describes “One Sauk, Naturally” as a groundbreaking opportunity to shape a common vision for Sauk County, a new relationship with the Ho-Chunk Nation, and a prosperous future for current and future generations.
The objectives of this project, One Sauk, Naturally, meet the criteria of the Local Government Institute of Wisconsin’s (“LGI”) Future Regions initiative and embrace the ideas outlined above.
The objectives include:
• Nurture and solidify cross-sector and intergovernmental partnerships, led by the Ho-Chunk Nation, Sauk County, and the county’s five Chambers of Commerce.
• Engage a broad cross-section of stakeholders, e.g., millennials, activists, entrepreneurs, educators, high schoolers, leaders from villages and townships, for their input and ideas for Sauk County’s future vision.
• Identify and prioritize the most critical trends facing the county, so that plans laid in the near-term are responsive and sustainable.
The SCDC Fall Leadership Forum series continues to share workforce/housing, retention/expansion and collaboration strategies for business and municipalities in Sauk County and Wisconsin’s greater South-Central region.
Fall Leadership Forum tickets are $35.00 per person. Interested business and community members are encouraged to attend.

25th Annual Fall Art Tour
October 19-21
|
|
|
The third full weekend each October, some of Wisconsin's best-known artisans open their studios, allowing visitors a unique, behind-the-scenes view into how their work is created. Known as the Fall Art Tour, each year it draws visitors from all over the country to artists' studios tucked away in the scenic hills in and around Wisconsin's art communities of Mineral Point, Spring Green, Dodgeville, and Baraboo.
During the three-day tour, artists will be in their studios, demonstrating and selling their work. These artisans include painters, sculptors, potters, weavers, jewelers, woodworkers, mixed-media artists, and more. Many of these studios are open only for this event, providing a unique opportunity to meet the artists and purchase their work. Join us on a drive through the autumn countryside during this once-a-year event that includes a rare glimpse into the restored breweries, one-room schoolhouses, and historic storefronts where some of Wisconsin's best-known artists work.
