Announcing the Bar Buddies Program
The Spring Green Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Sauk County Tavern League, is moving forward with plans to roll out a Bar Buddies program in time for Memorial Day. This is a ride program to get people home from drinking establishments safely, offering free rides from volunteer drivers to keep drunk drivers off the roads. The program will operate Friday and Saturday nights. Bar patrons simply ask bartenders for a ride home and one will be set up for them through the program. A 15-passenger van has been donated by Terry and Suzanne Shifflet, owners of the Wisconsin Riverside Resort, for the River Valley Area Bar Buddies program. The program will start in the Spring Green and Plain area and expand when possible. Others working on the project include Alvin Christianson, Neil Caflisch, Suzanne and Terry Shifflet, Spring Green Police Chief Kevin Wilkins, Sergeant Andy Kurek, Mark Horenberger of the Sauk County Tavern League, Tom Markart, Tammy Fleming-Markart and Spring Green Area Camber executive director Kris Stoddard. Donations are still being sought for the program. Send checks to the Spring Green Area Chamber of Commerce or call for more information.

Become a SGACC Ambassador!
The Spring Green Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee is a member group who volunteer their time to provide a crucial link between SGACC, its members, and the area at large. Ambassadors are in the center of the business activity of the community. They enjoy rewards of making new contacts, strengthening business relationships, and accessing resources to further their own success. They represent SGACC through referring new members, participating in events, such as ribbon cuttings, business after hour functions, and many more support activities.

The program’s mission is to develop a core group representative of the membership for the purpose of supporting and promoting a sound business environment through successful retention of members and attraction of new members; active participation at SGACC events; creation and implementation of ideas to ensure organization strength and facilitate growth; and establishment of a rapport among the Ambassadors that serves SGACC by its example of integrity and good will among the entire membership.
