Advent Series

COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

Join us as we continue in our Advent sermon series, "Come Home for Christmas." This week, we will be encouraged to experience the "Joy of Home."

As many of you already know, we've been singing the last two weeks in church. I can tell you how much I've missed it. I love music. Specifically, I (actually) love hymns. I am always singing, whistling, or humming a hymn (either outloud or in my head). Music brings me a great deal of joy.

One of our Advent family traditions is to gather for our family wreath lighting (every Sunday), followed by devotion and craft. As the kids craft, I play Advent & Christmas hymns on the piano. My favorite Advent hymn is "Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus." It reminds us that Christ is our rest, our hope, and our joy.

What about you? What are some of your joyful family traditions? Do you have a favorite Christmas or Advent hymn that warms your heart?

57th Annual Vespers

DECEMBER 19, 2021 at 5PM
After losing a year of Vespers to COVID-19 cancellations in 2020, we are excited to be bringing it back in 2021. While this year's Vespers' service will be abbreviated, we can still expect to hear quality Christmas music from our chancel choir, adult handbell choir, and our children's choir.

We hope you'll join us December 19 at 5pm for evening of beautiful music and fellowship.

2022 Faith Promise Update

As of November 21, we've received 157 Faith Promises totaling $397,537 and more than half of those pledges represent increases from 2021 or first time pledges.  The total amount of the increase is nearly $70,000.  That increase is offset by significant loss of current and future giving. During 2021 several of our top givers have gone home to be with the Lord or have moved out of the area!

If you want to make a faith promise but did not receive the card and letter, please let me know.  You can also create your faith promise online (see information below) or I can do that for you.  It is very important that you respond as we are currently developing the 2022 budget.  If we don't see significant response during the next four weeks, we may have to make some painful spending decisions.  I also ask you to review your 2021 Faith Promise to ensure that you meet or exceed that promise by the end of December.

Our target for 2022 is 225 Faith Promises totaling $525,000. After Thanksgiving, I will make follow up contacts to those who have not responded unless you have indicated you do not want to be contacted.  Please contact me at lanceb344@gmail.com or 216-219-3729 if you have any questions or need help.  God bless you all!
