“Between stimulus and response, there is a space.
In that space is the power to choose our response.
In our response, lies our growth and our freedom”.

MBCPMTM goes to Virginia

In September, Dr. Jackie was invited to speak at the 9th annual Worker’s Compensation Symposium organized by the Orthopedic and Spine Center in Newport News, Virginia.

MBCPMTM-trained Facilitator and Psychologist, Dr. Cal Robinson, of the Orthopedic and Spine Center, hosted Dr. Jackie.  An evening reception was held for participants from his recent, very well received MBCPMTM courses, at their centre to meet with Dr. Jackie.

[Dr. Jackie was enthralled by the amazing stem cell transplant work for arthritis at this center: https://www.osc-ortho.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Dr.-McFarland-Regenerative-Medicine.pdf]

Maintenance Matters via Zoom!

Christmas and Holidays MM for Mindful Mayhem -5 sessions
Beginning November 22, NNC will be hosting a weekly Maintenance Class via Zoom, Tuesdays: 4 to 5.15 pm.  This initiative allows those who have completed Level 1 MBCPMTM to join our sessions from their homes (but does not replace the MM chapters running these classes at health facilities around Ontario: for locations check our website: http://neuronovacentre.com/drop-in-mindfulness-maintenance)

For the Zoom sessions, all that is needed is a computer with a camera and microphone, joining the session via an email link is very easy.  A meditation is done each week followed by a discussion topic based on the 20 themes from the Mindfulness Matters Maintenance Classes Manual.  Mindfulness Matters classes will be hosted by various MBCPMTM facilitators and facilitator assistants including Grace Bezaire, Sara Pukal and Janice May. Cost for the first five weeks of these drop in sessions: $40 + HST.
Email team@neuronovacentre.com to enrol.

MBCPMTM Level 2 via Zoom

This initiative launches Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 4-6pm Toronto time, for MBCPMTM alumni, directly into your homes! Facilitated by Grace Bezaire (trained in MBSR and MBCPMTM) and MBCPMTM Facilitator Assistant Janice May.  Level 2 works through the same syllabus as the Level 1 course but at a deeper level of inquiry and starting with longer meditations. Cost:  $400 + HST (includes Level I & II workbook, or $360 if you have the workbook already).  Email team@neuronovacentre.com to enrol. You don’t have to venture out into the snow to attend this course!

MAJOR MINDFUL MENTION:

– To Christine Sugrue – Kingston, Ontario
We received the following email from an alumnus of MBCPMTM, wishing to highlight all Christine has done in the Kingston area.
“Christine Sugrue from Kingston should be recognized for her outstanding contributions as a volunteer, and President of the Pain Group here in Kingston. Presently she is the leader of our MBCPMTM maintenance classes and gives endlessly of her time to help and promote Mindfulness”.

Many thanks, Christine for all you do for chronic pain sufferers, and to member of our alumni, Gilles, for bringing this to everyone’s attention.
