“Between stimulus and response, there is a space.
In that space is the power to choose our response.
In our response, lies our growth and our freedom”.

MBCPMTM goes to Virginia

In September, Dr. Jackie was invited to speak at the 9th annual Worker’s Compensation Symposium organized by the Orthopedic and Spine Center in Newport News, Virginia.

MBCPMTM-trained Facilitator and Psychologist, Dr. Cal Robinson, of the Orthopedic and Spine Center, hosted Dr. Jackie.  An evening reception was held for participants from his recent, very well received MBCPMTM courses, at their centre to meet with Dr. Jackie.

Cost for the first five weeks of these drop in sessions: $40 + HST.

Grace graduated with an honours degree in social/cultural anthropology from University of Toronto in 2005, and came to Mindfulness by training with a prominent mindfulness trainer in Toronto, Dr. Lucinda Sykes, in 2009. She is a chronic pain sufferer herself, and found Mindfulness made a big difference to her quality of life and management of her condition.

She trained to facilitate MBCPMTM courses in 2013 and has co-facilitated courses with Dr. Jackie.  She will be one of the trainers for the MBCPMTM professional trainings currently being planned to start in 2017 in collaboration with University of Toronto’s Faculty of Continuing Studies.

– To Christine Sugrue – Kingston, Ontario
We received the following email from an alumnus of MBCPMTM, wishing to highlight all Christine has done in the Kingston area.
“Christine Sugrue from Kingston should be recognized for her outstanding contributions as a volunteer, and President of the Pain Group here in Kingston. Presently she is the leader of our MBCPMTM maintenance classes and gives endlessly of her time to help and promote Mindfulness”.

Many thanks, Christine for all you do for chronic pain sufferers, and to member of our alumni, Gilles, for bringing this to everyone’s attention.

NNC recommends True North Insight (TNI) retreats, which are available in both English and French, for those wanting to develop their mindfulness experience, starting with the briefer ones and gradually increasing:
