You Can Help Local Cornell Students

Monmouth & Ocean Cornellians,

You can help local Cornell students...and celebrate Cornell's Giving Day (TOMORROW, MARCH 12)... here's how.

Each year the Cornell Club of Monmouth & Ocean Counties awards one or two $1,500 scholarships to Cornell students from our area who are entering their senior year. Our criteria are simple: the student has large self-help need, and despite of this burden, has done well academically in their first three years. The award lowers their senior year loan. Recently, we have been able to award between $2,500 and $3,000 total each year.
CU Students

We have made this scholarship award for over 25 years to an energetic, highly motivated, and diverse group of students from our area. They have been extremely appreciative of the award, especially since it comes directly from local Cornellians. Two samples from their thank you notes convey our impact:

"The scholarship helps ease the burden on my family after all the sacrifices my mother has made for both my brother and me"

"One day I hope to pay it forward and help support future students the way you have supported me"

We raise money from two sources:

Raffles at each of our twice-a-year speaker events
Individual donations (just like an annual fund donation, your donations are tax deductible, qualify for gift matching if you have it)
