CCMO logoTwo Community Service Events in May
Join us at one or both!

CCMO has a long history of volunteering in communities in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. This Spring we've chosen to volunteer with two outstanding charities that provide critical meals to food-insecure people.

Saturday May 6: Lunch Break (Red Bank)

Lunch Break "freely provides life’s basic necessities - food, clothing, and fellowship -for our community Lunch Break Logomembers in need. Our mission is to alleviate hunger and lead those we serve to self-sufficiency and healthier lifestyles. We serve everyone, with compassion and dignity". CCMO volunteers will organize the food pantry and clean the kitchen and dining areas.

  • 12:00-1:30 pm: Meet for lunch (optional) at the Danish Cafe, 7 Bridge Ave. Red Bank, NJ. Pay for your own lunch.
  • 1:30-4:30 pm: Volunteer at Lunch Break, 121 Drs James Parker Blvd, Red Bank, NJ.

Saturday May 13: JBJ Soul Kitchen (Toms River)

Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Kitchen is a non-profit community restaurant that serves paying and in-need customers. It offers a delicious three-course farm-to-table meal in a warm, welcoming setting and provides a place to meet neighbors. Many of the dishes are made with fresh, organic ingredients from their garden or the JBJ Soul Kitchen Farm. For the in-need customers, they can volunteer at the facility as their dining payment.

JBJ Soul Kitchen is a program of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. There are two locations, the other in Red Bank, where we've volunteered in the past. The Toms River location is more convenient for alumni and their families (ages 15 and older) and friends in Ocean County.

Location: JBJ Soul Kitchen, 1769 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ

  • 1:30-4:30 pm: volunteering service, to include clean up work at the restaurant, lobby, and grounds.
  • 5:00-7:00 pm: optional dinner at the restaurant with a $20 per person donation to be paid on site.
