Flowers blooming in Bellevue
Bellevue Neighborhood Association is extending its street planter program throughout the city. Having its 21 street planters on Fairfield Avenue, the commercial corridor, growing profusely, and having solved the watering problem, the Garden Team has added a large number of planted urns, which it has situated on many corners throughout the city. Because of an influx of young people with children establishing homes in the city, people who walk, often with babies and dogs, the Garden Team of BNA responded with flowers everywhere one walks. Fragrant and colorful, these planters are surprising residents as they pursue their daily routines. Bellevue is truly a walkable city, 1 mile square, with good sidewalks overhung with old trees. Be on the lookout for winter greens soon.

Help a Child in Need and Become a Holiday Elf
Each year there are over 100 requests for assistance for children within our school district in Bellevue. Those families are lined up with agencies and programs that exist throughout our area. However, each year a number of children simply cannot be placed. For those children the Christmas Elves program comes in to play where private donors are matched with a child to “help” that family have a Merry Christmas. The Elves aren't expected to be the end all for each child, but are asked that they help make things just a bit brighter. The children range in age from 2 years old up to 15 years of age. The Elves are asked to provide basic needs like socks, shoes, coats and underwear then perhaps add a gift or toy. Contact bellevuekyalliance@gmail.com to get involved.
