Come down to the Bellevue Beach Park tomorrow, Oct 12th, from 1pm to 10pm for the first annual "Mayesfest" a Bluegrass and American Roots Music Festival. Music festivities will start at 2pm on the main stage featuring local and regional bands. Festivities will also include a variety of food, beverages and merchandise vendors. Queen City Riverboat tours will be an additional element to the event offering 4 one hour live music tours up and down the Ohio River. Riverboat Music Tour tickets will be sold in advance, and onsite, for $10 each. Ticket holders will hear live music, have bar service and enjoy magnificent views of the Ohio and Kentucky shoreline. Wreaths range from $20 to $25 and make beautiful decorations! Each wreath will feature pinecones and your choice of red or maroon ribbon. Be advised that the City of Newport in cooperation with the Army Corps of Engineers will soon be working on and testing the installation of the Route 8 Flood Gate. This work will require the closing of Route 8 / Dave Cowan’s Drive between the City of Newport and the City of Bellevue for up to several days. Traffic will be impacted. Detours will be posted.
