Floating EKA team is on the mic with great news and a big thank you!
On June, 27, European Cultural Foundation has confirmed that they would be happy to support our project Sąsiedzi/Сусіди/Суседзі/Соседи (The Neighbors).
It took Floating Eka a while to build up some strength. We are not going to lie to you, sometimes, especially with pandemics, it felt almost impossible for a big project to happen. But you have been here with us these 1,5 years supporting us. You were our rock and inspiration. Thanks to you we have succeeded.
This is the first big victory of Floating Eka and this is your victory too! Without your support, we would not make it this far.

The “Sąsiedzi.Сусіди.Суседзі.Соседи.” is a project about neighbours, residents of the countries involved in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict: Ukraine, Russia, Poland, and Belarus.
Since February 24, neighbourhood relations based on spatial proximity and natural interpenetration at the level of family and cultural ties are undergoing dramatic changes that society's reflection cannot keep up with. Collective trauma affects even those not directly involved in the shock event. When it comes to countries, we are condemned to be neighbours even in the situation when the neighbourhood has become a disaster. To coexist, we need to find a new language based on trauma recognition when the war is over. It is an integral part of establishing and rebuilding new neighbourhoods to work towards a peaceful future for Ukraine and Europe.
For many years, the documentary theatre has served as a platform for speaking up on issues of public importance. Thus, we choose the method of artistic reflection of the war to convey the talk as neighbours to neighbours. 4 artistic teams, one from each country, will stage a documentary play in their language in order to reflect on collective trauma, find a language to talk about war with groups who are not equally affected by it.
We are starting the research part of the project in July. Stay tuned!

The Franconia Fellowship supports mid-career artists working in sculpture and installation, including land art, ceramics, contemporary craft, experimental sound/music, and performance art.

💰 Residents will be provided with studios or co-working spaces, and access to shared residency spaces. As a museum-run initiative, Residents will also benefit from institution resources and expertise, network building and opportunities for public engagement. Housing allowance will also be provided for foreign residents.

Clip studio PAINT is looking for underwater illustrations; whether it's a deep, powerful ocean, waves crashing on the shore, or even playing in the pool, we want to see what you come up with!
